The National Population Commission (NPC) has concluded plans to commence Enumerators and Supervisors Training: following the assent of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the need to conduct the 2023 Population and Housing Census Exercise. According to Emails being sent by NPC to the "Approved" Enumerators and Supervisors, the NPC will kickstart the Enumerators and Supervisors Training with Virtual Class Training, while the LGA level Training will follow the Virtual Class Room Training. The Email Reads: "Dear Applicant, Congratulations! We are happy to let you know that your application for the position of Census Adhoc Staff has been accepted. After carefully examining your credentials, work history, and fitness for the position, we are certain that you will be an asset to our team.You are expected to join all virtual sessions that will be conducted very soon.Please find attached a docurment containing detailed information about Census Training." The National Population Commission (NPC) has started to prepare arranging to determine the names of Supervisors and Enumerators who will conduct and receive training.  I got the news that the Census Commission has changed the way it will release the names of the Applicants who will conduct the training in the month of July that we will join end of this week.  It is known to everyone that the census commission usually postpones the date of receiving the training due to some reasons that they face before it, but God willing, the training will be held in the ending month of July.  A few months ago, names were released in some local governments in Nigeria, but some did not see their names! PRESIDENT TINUBU PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR NPC, TO ANNOUNCE NEW DATE FOR CENSUS SOON Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, received in audience the Chairman of National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa and his team at the State House, Abuja. NPC Chairman briefed the President on the Implementation Status of the 2023 Population and Housing Census and requested the issuance of a proclamation for a new Census date later this year or early next year. The NPC Adhoc Staff Training for Enumerators and Supervisors recently scheduled to commence on 15th March, 2023 and end on 21st March, 2023 will no longer hold as planned.  Recall that the National Population Commission had planned to conduct the LGA Level Training on Building Numbering and Household Listing on 15th - 21st March, 2023, and LGA Level Training on Persons Enumeration on 26th - 30th April, 2023. However, the postponement of the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly Election to 18th March, 2023 has thwarted the NPC Adhoc Staff Enumerators and Supervisors Training schedule, as it now falls within the election period. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday rescheduled the Governorship/House of Assembly Election, which was ealier slated on 11th March, 2023, on the ground that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (EPT) had delayed the reconfiguration of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS).
